FORS Safe Urban Driving/Van Safe
This course is designed to help HGV drivers to better understand and identify the risks and hazards when driving their vehicles in urban environments alongside vulnerable road users such as cyclists and pedestrians. It is fully Driver CPC accredited and so provides 7 hours towards the Driver CPC periodic training requirement.
The course incorporates both a theory module delivered in a classroom, plus the requirement to take to a bicycle and experience the road from a cyclist’s perspective. Both modules are delivered on the same day.
The course aims to build awareness of other road users and the hazards and risks they pose in an urban environment, together with strategies and techniques to help reduce the likelihood of an accident.
We can deliver this course for groups of people anywhere around the country. We also offer open courses for individuals to attend, which are delivered in Newark, Nottinghamshire.
Delegates must be physically able to ride a bicycle to be able to complete this course and receive the accreditation certificate.
Delegates will receive a certificate in recognition of completing this course, and BLT will add the training to your Driver CPC training record.
